The CASSIE System is a distributed software system consisting of
smart client components (called the User Stations) and a highly
optimized nerve center component (called the Manager).
The User Station is installed on all public access and staff
computers that will be part of the CASSIE System.
One Manager must be installed within your CASSIE System. It
does not require a dedicated server. It will run well on a modestly
equipped computer, but it can also take advantage of multiple processors,
if present. The Manager runs as a background process and has no user
interface; all interaction with the System occurs through the User
Stations.
The Manager and User Station applications can co-exist on the same
computer.
User Station Application Requirements

Network adapter
Running one of the following operating systems:
Windows Server 2012
Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise (32-bit "x86" or
64-bit "x64")
Windows Server 2008 (All 32-bit "x86" or 64-bit

including R2)
Windows XP Professional
(32-bit "x86") Windows 2000 Professional or Server
Note: The CASSIE Manager hard drive space usage
is largely a function of the size of the user/accounting database.
An approximate calculation is 550 bytes per used record, so a
database with 50,000 user records will require about 26 MB on the
hard drive. Optional database backup images will require additional space.
